Hummus is such a healthy snack with chips or veggies, and is so easy to make yourself. And – I would argue that it tastes even better when you make it yourself, too! You guys know that I love everything with an avocado, and this hummus is no different. Add my second favorite (and versatile!) food – black beans – and this is a dip made in heaven.
A good recipe for hummus = beans + fat + citrus.
Typically, you have chickpeas, olive oil, and lemon juice. In this one, we use black beans, avocado, lime juice. The best part is that there’s no chopping required for this easy dip, and it’s made even easier by your food processor. Throw everything in, let it blend, and you have an easy snack in minutes!
Enjoy!

-
. Add all of your hummus ingredients to your food processor, and blend for 30 seconds to 1 minute or until fully mixed.

STEP BY STEP PHOTOS:
Drain and rinse the can of black beans, and slice & scoop your avocado. The riper the better! Slice your lime in half. Throw all of your hummus ingredients into your food processor, squeezing all the juice you can from your lime.
Blend until completely smooth – it takes about 30 seconds to 1 minute to be totally smooth. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed. Scoop it all into a serving dish, and serve with chips or veggies! You can also throw it in a plastic container with a thin layer of plastic wrap directly on top, plus a lid, and it’ll keep in the fridge for the rest of the week for a quick snack!
