Super quick and easy way to enjoy fresh green beans! This recipe is adapted from this version from Food.com. It makes about 2 servings of the green beans as a side dish, but can easily be doubled or tripled for larger crowds. It’s an easy vegetable that I can quickly throw together for me and my husband, but I’ve also tripled this recipe to make for an easy holiday side dish. I like it for holidays because it’s a little lighter than the typical veggie casserole, but still super tasty and full of flavor.
Enjoy!

-
. In a medium pan, melt butter. Add sugar, garlic salt, basil, and pepper; stir to combine. Add tomatoes and cook for 2-3 minutes or until soft and start to burst.
-

STEP BY STEP PHOTOS:
Add your prepped green beans to a large saute pan that has a lid. Add the water to the pan and heat on the stove over medium heat. Cover and simmer for about 10 minutes or until bright green and still crisp.
In a separate pan, add the butter, sugar, garlic salt, and dried basil. Melt the seasoned butter mixture over medium heat.
Add the cherry (or grape!) tomato halves to the butter mixture as the green bean continue to steam. Cook the tomatoes in the butter mixture for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Once the green beans are finished cooking, drain the water and pour the beans into a serving bowl. Pour the tomato and butter mixture over the cooked green beans. Season with salt and freshly cracked black pepper, toss and serve immediately!
